HeartRate Monster Edition Signups!
HeartRate is a short-term dating game.
These are signups for a monsterfucker edition, running for 4 weeks, from July 12 (this Friday!!) through August 8.
If there are not at least 20 people signed up by 6pm PST Thursday, the game will not run. The mechanics require a minimum number of people to work well. Assuming we hit that minimum, stragglers can still sign up until gamestart the next day. There is no maximum.

HeartRate is a referral-based game. Vector is your mod; if you've roleplayed with her before, you can put her down as your referral. Otherwise, you must be referred by someone else already signed up for the game. All players must be over 18.
Please only refer people you have played with personally, who you are confident can be chill, communicate, and keep good IC/OOC boundaries in this sort of game. You are vouching for them! You can refer as many people as you want as long as you're willing to recommend them. If you are looking for a referral, find someone you know and reach out to them privately, and please respect it if they say no.
Canon characters, original characters, and canon AUs are all allowed. No CRAU/previous game histories. No doubles of the same character. In borderline cases where the same character is significantly different in different media/routes/universes/etc, talk to each other, and if both players agree they're up for it then go for it. There are no age or other restrictions on characters, but choose in good faith someone who is going to be fun going on dates with at least some of the other people in the game.
This is a short-term, high-intensity game centered around romantic competition. Everyone has different reactions and different comfort levels, and you know yourself and your character best, so take a moment to think about whether it feels right. You can't control other people's reactions to your character, so if you think whether your character is popular will affect whether you have fun, consider whether it's the right character/game for you.
All characters will be transformed into monsters upon arrival. "Monster" is defined as something that is less than half human (by some measurement), and is dangerous, frightening, or offputting in some way. No monsters that are just sexy humans with accessories. If you are unsure your monster choice qualifies, ping me and I'll make a call. If your character is already a monster that qualifies under the guidelines, they can either stay the same or transform into a different monster.
Players are encouraged to find a monster PB for at least a few icons to help capture the visual aspects in play, but this is not required. Please have some kind of reference image, though.
